About me

I’m Stacy, Founder of Stacy Oakley Calligraphy. I fell in love with calligraphy in 2016, when I attended a local 2 hour workshop. I was immediately hooked and have pretty much lettered constantly since, developing my styles and designs.

I’ve now been featured in bridal publications including You and Your Wedding Magazine, have been booked to letter at brand events for the likes of Space NK and Diptyque, as well as running workshops at WeWork locations across London.

I pride myself on my approachable nature, enthusiasm and efficiency. I usually reply to emails within a few hours and have never been late delivering on a project.

In my spare time, you can find me walking through woods with my labradoodle puppy, Obi, or singing Disney classics with my two daughters.

What’s in a name?

So, a confession. My name is Stacy Westhead, not Stacy Oakley. Oakley was actually my maiden name.

My Dad, Bob, passed away before I attended my first calligraphy workshop, and it makes me sad that he hasn’t been here to join me on this journey of setting up my own business (although I’m not sure he’d completely understand it, being the opposite of an arty type.)

However, it felt fitting to dedicate my business to him, by using the name he gave me. After all, he was obsessed with neat handwriting throughout my childhood, something he has definitely passed down to me. I still remember him drilling me on getting the sizes of my letters uniform, making me practice on graph paper until I could get it right.

We could not thank Stacy enough for all she did for our wedding. From the initial designs to the final products she was professional, caring and meticulous in her work . She is so talented and was able to take our very loose ideas (and terrible sketches on back of napkins!) and turn them into reality. She also produced personalised gifts for all my bridesmaids and those that attended my hen-do as a special thank-you to them of which they have all commented how wonderful they were. Stacy’s work really gave our wedding the classy, high-gloss finish that we wanted and I would highly recommend her and her work to anyone. We really can never thank you enough and can’t wait to have more events just so we can use you again!

Stacy was incredible from start to finish. She understood exactly what we wanted and suggested unique ideas to make our wedding stationery perfect – from a personalised logo of our initials and wax stamping to a drawing of our church on the order of service. In the build up to the big day you deal with so many suppliers and I found it so stressful waiting for responses to ensure everything was okay. Stacy was incredibly fast in responding, letting you know detailed timeframes of when to expect items and always delivering (with brilliant turnaround times). The reassurance that everything was going smoothly is so incredible and that doesn’t even include how amazing all the work is to. She completely understood the look we were after, making fantastic recommendations and ensuring we both loved everything she made for us
